This program is designed for innovators who desire to start Opportunity-Based Businesses by understanding and applying the process of generating a business idea, building a business model, designing a minimum viable product (MVP), testing and scaling the business model.
The accelerator is broken into weekly 1.5 hour sessions outlined below where concepts are explained and practical strategies discussed. The innovator then spends the rest of the week implementing the concept.
Week 1-4: Build a Profitable Business Model
Goal: Understand what your market needs and design a business model that makes money and can scale up.
Your action plan:
By the end of this phase, you’ll complete a full Business Model Canvas – with real assumptions that give you confidence and clarity. This will be the blueprint for your business going forward.
Week 5-6: Mitigating the Risks of Owner-Manager Conflict
Goal: Learn how to avoid becoming the biggest risk to your own business by balancing your personal goals with what the business actually needs to succeed.
Your action plan:
You’ll create a personal Owner Risk Mitigation Plan that helps you recognize areas where you might block the growth of your business, plan for role transition as your business scales, fill skill gaps and align the business with your goals.
Week 7-8: Get Ready to Enter the Market
Goal: Build a simple, smart version of your offer so you can start testing it in the real market.
Your action plan:
By the end of this stage, you’ll have created a market-ready MVP – a real, testable version of your offer that gives you proof people want what you’re building. You’ll be ready to learn from the market and make smarter decisions moving forward.
Week 9: Test your MVP in a real market
Goal: Launch your MVP, attract real users, and learn from their behaviour to improve your offer.
Your action plan:
By the end of this week, you’ll have a clear, evidence-based analysis of how your MVP performed in the real market. You’ll know what your customers are telling you, both with their words and with their actions. You’ll be ready to make data-driven decisions about what to do next.
Week 10-11: Operating with Leanness
Goal: Learn how to run your business efficiently by using fewer resources, spending wisely, and focusing only on what moves the needle.
Your action plan:
